Offering a Great User Experience (UX) – Things to Consider

We are all fully aware that every commercial website that promotes the sale of goods or services needs to provide users with a great user experience. Presenting an enjoyable user experience is something that has to be at the very core of your online sales effort. As we all know, a pleasant user experience would help in gaining increased customer loyalty, greater sales conversions, lower bounce rates, and decreased customer service requests. Your UX design should be such that it offers a very pleasant user experience and makes users love it to the point of continuously using it. However, what are the main elements in your design process that will present your users with an enjoyable user experience? Incorporating a few elements could prove immensely beneficial in offering a great user experience for your users Know Your Customers One of the first things to consider even before the start of the user experience design process is getting to know who your likely users are and making them feel very real and relatable. It is tempting to design with your own taste and preferences in mind; but this will not help users complete the tasks on the site if they have a completely different set of preferences and needs. The good interface and user experience design is one that is always inspired from knowing what the need of your customer is and satisfying it. Clean Navigation You should provide your users with a clean navigation at the very outset to minimize the possibility of making costly, time-consuming navigation upgrades later. You should not allow your users to be at a loss in the pool of links placed badly in your app or website. Call to Action (CTA) A call to action (CTA) is a vital component of any commercial website and any website that intends to provoke an action from a user needs to clearly display a call to action. A call to action – usually displayed in the form of a button – calls upon a user to take a specific mode of action that is in tune with what the site promotes. You should place the CTA or call to action at places where users can see and take necessary action. Use of Readable Fonts Your font size should be such that your readers will have no difficulty in reading it. Also, avoid using all caps as overuse of caps is not pleasing to the eyes and the search engines will penalize such sites. Also make sure that the color of the fonts should be pleasing and neither too bright nor dull. Responsive Website   Design a responsive website that allows web pages to be displayed according to the size of the device it is viewed on. In a responsive design, web pages would adjust to the size of the screen whether a web, mobile, tablet or even high resolution screens like iMac. Search engines consider responsive design to be a signal in their ranking algorithms. Get Regular Feedback  Make it a point to get regular feedback from your users. It is only through feedback that you get an update of what your users think of your design. You should accept both positive and negative feedbacks and consider negative feedbacks to be some useful advice that should help you provide better user experience. Creating a feedback survey on your app or website and displaying the link/button properly would encourage some of the users to offer feedback.
