The method of creating content that would stand Google scrutiny and that which would help websites rank higher in search engines has changed dramatically over the years. The earlier methods, with its emphasis on keywords placements, do not work successfully anymore. With Google’s regular algorithm updates, companies are required to create high-quality, unique content that are relevant and resourceful – a job that requires a much higher level of strategy than ever before. If you want your sites to rank higher in search results and not to be penalized and black listed by Google,  then there are certain points that you need to keep in mind while optimizing your website. Including Keywords in Content Including the right keywords in your content is of utmost importance and this will help businesses improve their rankings. However, stuffing of keywords in the content is considered a black hat strategy and Google will penalize such sites. Keywords are to be incorporated in the content in a way that looks perfectly natural without obstructing the natural flow of your article. Always focus on writing high quality content that is useful, relevant and informative for the user and also include variations of phrases as Google’s algorithms are engineered to decipher both keywords and its several variations. Though Google and other search engines do not specify the number of words a page should have, it should not be less than 500 words. Having another website link to yours is like getting a positive vote and informing search engines that your site is important and interesting’ But getting links from dubious, spammy sites or link farms will be considered by Google and other search engines as black hat techniques and such sites will be penalized. Getting links from authoritative and well known sites including Government, educational and other authoritative sites will bring in immense SEO benefits as one quality link is better than hundreds of poor quality sites.
